Parc del Riuet

It is a fantastic area, right in the heart of Sort, but unfortunately missed by many visitors walking around the town, since it is below eyesight. It is found on the old riverbed of La Noguera Pallaresa, it takes an area of about 16.000 square meters. Many activities and events are taking place there during most of the months of the year.

Even though the controversy about urban development in the Pyrenees seems to be a present day one, there was a dispute some years ago in relation to the Park and house building. Luckily, El Riuet Park was kept as it was before and nowadays it is still, together with the avenue along the river, one of the most emblematic pedestrian areas of town.

Les Nou Fonts(water source), found on the way out of Sort, towards La Bastida, it is another of the traditional spots for a short ramble or to go picnicking...
